In July of 2025 a nonprofit began reaching out to simil valley school district, parks and rec, PD and the city regarding ebike safety. Their narrative was Simi has the highest accident and death rate. Members running for office offered endorsement and support. No money was ever given and there’s actually still an outstanding balance from the only class they put on. That was promised and never paid. The nonprofit was trusting and assumed this was the same relationship with any other city they had worked with. It wasn’t. After being asked by people from the city, and PD to send their curriculum (which took over a year to develop). They complied, we’re actually encouraged to go to the council meetings asking about the $170k Simi valley received per the e-bike grant. Nonprofits know which grants serve them. The grants are given to cities and they are encouraged to contact those cities, and Simi valley was the only one in Ventura county who had received any money per that incentive. January of 2025 it was received. $170k. They were in communication. They have numerous communication from members of PD (high officials) and the Mayors office saying they wanted to partner. I guess verbal agreements don’t matter for officials? But for everyone else can be held responsible in court not to mentions the emails about partnering. Which would be written agreements. Even if not official. Then a child passed as a two wheel organization, they felt that. They were angry they had warned and warned and been ignored. So the video from the council meeting was released. Since then this nonprofit has been accused of disregarding the family and their feelings. Which never happened and there is no proof of, they were actually planning a huge event for the family in Thousand Oaks. And had contact with family. Despite reports that this organization has no communication with the family. Fake accounts posting that so I could be officials. And why? That’s so horrible to say about an organization who gives money to families that have had tragedy from M2s. They were confronted about being insensitive rather than acknowledging that safety was needed. Their egos mattered more although they are all speaking for themselves in the video. The nonprofit also offered that they are more involved with tragedy than anyone, as they get stories and photos from all around the nation. In fact a mother lost her 10 year old, two months later another one of her children was killed on a regular bicycle. They were there for them. And many many others. They’ve even had healthy conversations with people who are completely against ebike and want to understand their perception. They are a community of two wheels. That’s it. They don’t gain anything. Since the video was released, all of the sudden Simi has is own curriculum. The city and PD won’t share that with IT NEEDS TO END, to prove it hasn’t been plagiarized. When they reached out to candidates who supported them prior, it was very different. Those people were immature, insulted character, confrontational and even had the audacity to say their program was “stupid.” Referring to their take home safety material. This same person sent text messages to the president that were wildly inappropriate about PD. Naming officials by their full names. Now that same candidate is asking for PDs endorsement. Nonprofit owners are driven by passion not politics. What the city of Simi valley, their PD and candidates have done to this nonprofit is absolutely shameful. They absolutely used her. They had nothing to do with politics. They have contracts all over LA county and have been written into their city ordinances. Ventura county, especially Simi valley doesn’t support their own community member who made something amazing! Her classes are so fun for the kids that they are bummed when they’re over! Instead of acknowledging that they made a mistake and these courses were necessary. Instead of saying ‘we need to act fast, let’s include this nonprofit that we received significant funding for’. Instead of acknowledging that this nonprofit could educate their entire school district for half of the grant money. Instead of supporting a local Jewish business owner. Instead of doing absolutely anything that wasn’t malice, they sent an email saying the owner can only have contact with the city attorney. Then, they suddenly released that they have their own program. Myself and others have heard officals and PD speaking very poorly about her around town. It’s sad. And dishearenting. She was honest and trying to help after her brother had an awful accident on an M2. She comes from a family of all M1 and bmx professionals. This is her life. She’s been on two wheels since she was 7. She developed a fun program kids will like. She developed it asking the kids what they would like in a course. She puts her life’s work into her nonprofit, and the city will continue to be corrupt and get away with it. She’s scared around town knowing how people are speaking of her, who should at the very least, should be more professional. She’s scared around town knowing what officals have been saying and worse she has to fear for her son. Simi is know for retaliation and she is expecting it. When she did the RIGHT thing. This is atrocious that this is how they treated her. And they’ll get away with it. They always do. She has a ton of texts and emails with everything I mentioned. I know she reached out to you but they destroyed her emotionally. She’s too beat up to keep fighting. Please Joe. She deserved better, so did the Beck family. And the community deserves to know what they’re supporting. The corruption in Simi has everyone with a boot on their neck. It has to stop.
